Hygienisation of sludge with lime - HKV

TRANSPORT AND HYGIENISATION OF SLUDGE

- HKV is used at WWTPs that produce a dewatered sludge. The hygienisation consists in the dosing the lime (CaO) into the sludge, which results in an exothermic reaction that increases the alkalinity of the sludge up to pH 12. This significantly reduces the contents of microorganisms and bacteria in the sludge.
- powdered lime stored in the silo is dosed by a screw conveyor into a system of single-shaft or dual-shaft conveyors, where it is mixed with sludge.
- HKV can be economically adapted to required layout and optimum dosing of the lime can be adjusted.
- the products within HKV are also produced in a mobile version on a trailer.
